What started as a happy little local event, the Berlin Music Video Awards have grown into a monolith of a global happening, attracting attention from every corner of the music video world.

Taking place on the 14th – 17th June 2023 at Club Gretchen (Obentrautstr. 19-21, 10963 Berlin – Kreuzberg), there are still some tickets going – jump on it now to avoid disappointment!

Taking place from June 14th to 17th, 2023 at Club Gretchen in Berlin, the 11th edition of this international event celebrates the creativity and talent behind the making of music videos, attracting both established and up-and-coming artists from around the globe.

Amongst this year’s other BMVA nominees, you will find creative videos of known artists like TheWeeknd (Nominated in Animation), Grimes (Best Art Director), Oliver Tree (Trashy), Harry Styles(Best Editor), Sam Smith (Best Cinematography) and Tayce (Most Bizzare), who is also the festival’s first confirmed special guest at the event.

Furthermore, Tayce will be headlining the event’s performances together with DornikaMad KateCNIDARIELPolartropicaPaura DiamanteDeutschland GMBH, and many more.

In some categories we have top artists like Lizzo in the running for Best Concept with the music video for her song “Special”, but is the household name enough to win? Artist Josman’s music video for “Intro” has sharp and meticulous depictions, leaving room for interpretation but intense feeling.

And La Jungle with “Du Sang Du Singe” hooks you in from the start of the video and leaves your mouth agape for the rest. Either one has what it takes to take home the big win. You can watch the videos and see which concept most inspires you, or come to the Berlin Music Video Awards June 14th-17th to see how it all turns out!

In addition to the official selection of music videos, the Berlin Music Video Awards will also feature a number of special events, including a Fashion Show, the Glittering Carpet, an Award Ceremony and new to this year – an AI conference:

 The Fashion Show

At the BMVA, it is recognized how impactful fashion is on the Music Video world, which is why talented designers are invited to participate and showcase their alternative designs at the main event, right on The Glittering Carpet for all the guests to see. It’s a great opportunity to connect designers, production companies, directors, models and musicians, and bring the next fashionable music video or performance to life!

The Glittering Carpet

The Glittering Carpet is the BMVA version of the red carpet where the press and the winners are able to meet up for interviews. Each year a unique and flashy vehicle is selected to bring our special guests to the venue, showcasing the car and intricate outfits the guests arrive in. A grand entrance for the show-stopping event to come.

The AI Conference

On June 16th, as part of “Experimental Culture Day”, the first-ever BMVA AI summit will be held. The discussion will focus on the impact of AI on creative processes in music videos, balancing artistic vision with AI capabilities, ethical considerations in using AI-generated content, and the incredible potential of the technology.

The Animation Summit

Another exciting addition to this year’s festival is the Animation Summit. This discussion will focus on the incorporation and innovations of animation into the existing art form of music videos.

Each year we have a pristine select of 35 juror members, and here are some highlights of a few:
